OUR WORKSHOPS
Learning to write comes from reading, both the work of published writers and of our peers, and from using one’s powers of insight and creativity to analyze what one reads and figure out why it works when it does and what is missing when it doesn’t. This is where knowledge is gained, and it’s slow and frustrating, nebulous, diffuse, much less direct and directed than having someone write Great! in the margins of a story ….

Every workshop we offer at Juncture reflects Beth’s deep understanding of the memoir form—its makers, its challenges, its rewards. We’re currently offering all programs online, with the hope of returning to in-person teaching soon.

CONNECTING TO YOUR WORLD THROUGH STORY: WORKSHOP SERIES (2026)

In this brand-new Juncture Workshops series, award-winning writer and teacher Beth Kephart will offer fresh insights into the art of writing beauty, loved ones, and remembrance. The 1.5-hour Zoom sessions, artfully illustrated by Kephart’s award-winning artist-husband, William Sulit, will offer knowledge regarding chosen forms, feature inspirations from beloved writers, present original prompts, and provide brief time windows for writing in the moment. Participants will receive an illustrated PDF prompt book following each session that can be downloaded and used to guide future work. Each session is presented live via Zoom. If you cannot attend the live sessions, the recordings will be available to participants for 30 days following the program.

These sessions are appropriate for all levels of writers and dreamers.

They can be purchased individually or as a package.

A final offering will present writers with the opportunity to share up to 250 words with the community. Beth will offer in-the-moment observations. These sessions will be limited to 15 writers at a time. Should additional sessions be required, they will be scheduled.
