Wife | Daughter | Self Book Launch
six books, one essay, and one poem that shaped my thinking about memoir
Sunday, March 14, 2021, 3 PM – 4:15 PM EST

I came to memoir as an autodidact—a writer with a degree in the History and Sociology of Science, a poet whose poems were ridiculed by a roommate’s friends in college, an amateur who learned the art of editing herself from some very generous editors at a literary magazine called The Iowa Woman. My ideas about the form have been deeply shaped and shaded by the books I’ve read—not all of them memoir. I’ll be discussing these books and then introducing my editor—all culminating in an in-depth look at the making of a memoirist’s life, and one particular memoir. I encourage you to pre-order signed copies of the book from my dear friend Cathy Fiebach at Main Point Books. Five participants, their names randomly drawn, will receive a copy of one of Beth’s handmade books (mailed to US address only).
