Where do we go in search of beauty? How can attentive language help us keep that beauty near? What happens when we trust the vessel of a prose poem with moments we do not wish to lose? We’ll search for the places—expected and unexpected—where beauty lives. We’ll choose words. We’ll consider the prose poem and its many shapes. We’ll turn to writers such as Gerald Manley Hopkins, Mary Oliver, Anna Badkhen, Margaret Renkl, Stanley Kunitz, Chloe Dalton, and Ted Kooser for inspiration. By the end of the session, you will have drafted a prose poem in honor of something beautiful in your life, and created, in that way, a framework for future meditations.
