THE ART OF REMEMBRANCE
June 20, 2026 2:00 – 3:30 PM ET (eastern time, USA)
In the midst of life and love and beauty, we encounter, inevitably, endings. The end of a season, the end of a song, the end of a certain kind of story. Words are a bridge to the past. Stories are a form of healing. We’ll think about what writing honorably, and truthfully, requires of us. We’ll turn to Saskia Hamilton, Philip Connors, Olivia Laing, Greg Djanikian, Wallace Stegner, William Maxwell, and Anne Truitt to learn more about how we can rescue, with literature, those things we wish to save. By the end of the session, you will have written toward a moment or person you wish to keep present with words.
